West Chester Silver Strings begins its twenty-fifth year of classroom instruction and performance opportunities for children in the greater Northern Cincinnati area. Beginning string players with no experience will meet in the Fine Tuners Orchestra. Students in the Explorers Orchestra continue to build their music reading and playing skills as they take on more challenging pieces of music. High school student mentors aid younger students in learning their instruments. This class is for students with at least two years of experience in orchestra OR private lessons. Students in the Sinfonia Orchestra (formerly Advanced class) come together weekly to rehearse music for various performance opportunities. This orchestra is for students with at least three years of experience in orchestra OR private lessons. Past performances include joint concerts with WCSO and LHC Band. Performances that have showcased Silver Strings students include holiday concerts for the community at Niederman Family Farm, The WC/Liberty Sampler weekend at the WC Library in the spring, solo and ensemble performances at the Barrington Nursing Care Facility, and the Award Concert and Dessert Buffet held in May. We're looking forward to a great season again this year, providing music that is rich and educational, as well as socially entertaining activities for the children of Lakota, and the WC/Liberty Community at large.
